BIOGRAPHY
Reverend Maurice L. Lawson is the founder of L.I.F.T. (Life Influenced by Faith and Truth) Ministries. With more than 20 years of combined ministry and military leadership experience, Rev. Lawson is a much sought after preacher, teacher, trainer, and key note speaker. He uses Bible based life application skills to reach God’s people so that they might transform their lives through the power of God’s word.
In 1993 he was appointed Youth Pastor of Living Faith Sanctuary, Inc. in Las Cruces, NM. It was here that God began to prepare him for greater leadership roles and responsibilities in ministry. In 1996 he was appointed Pastor of Living Faith Sanctuary and held this position until 1998 when he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. From 1998 to 2007 Rev. Lawson served in ministry while also serving his country.
As a former commissioned officer in the United States Army and a veteran of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, Rev. Lawson has remained committed to God’s Great Commission of preaching the Gospel where ever he found himself. During his first tour of duty in Germany (1998-2001), Rev. Lawson developed a passion for evangelism while serving on the ministerial staff at New Birth Church of God in Christ. Serving as both the Christian Education and Evangelism department director of New Birth, he revitalized the church’s Christian Education Program and implemented many successful evangelistic programs and initiatives. While stationed in Germany, Rev. Lawson deployed to Kuwait as part of Operation Southern Overwatch. During his time there (1999-2000), he organized and led a Gospel Worship Service for the personnel that were assigned to his installation. In 2001, upon completion of his tour in Germany, Rev. Lawson was assigned to Fort Jackson, SC. While there he also remained active in various ministries in the local Columbia area. It was here that he began working with his Mentor and Pastor, Kenneth B. Ratliff and several other founding body members to form Christian Faith Fellowship Church where he currently serves as the Assistant Pastor and the Executive Vice President of the church’s Board of Directors.
A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, Rev. Lawson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from New Mexico State University. He also holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology at Columbia International University with an emphasis in Leadership, Evangelism and Mobilization.
